On May 2, the Cainiao announced the opening of an intercontinental route between Hong Kong and Belgium. This is the second intercontinental route only for e-commerce after the Hangzhou-Moscow route. At this point, the time limit for Cainiao logistics in Europe will generally decrease to about 5 days, which opens a new way for SMEs to participate in global trade.

　　Guan Xiaodong, general manager of Cainiao International, said that Belgium is located in the center of the three major markets of Germany, the United Kingdom and France. Through regular airlines and regular charter flights to Belgium, it can quickly improve the logistics efficiency of Western European markets.

　　According to reports, Hong Kong-Belgium’s intercontinental route uses the Boeing 747-400F all-cargo model with a payload of 100 tons. Currently, there are 2-4 flights per week, and it will be upgraded to a daily shift in the future.

　　Previously on March 29th, a Hangzhou-Moscow cargo flight opened by Cainiao completed its first flight, becoming the only e-commerce special intercontinental route in the world. The first phase of the flight will be 1-3 flights per week to Latvia and Russia. Through this route, SMEs have their own air cargo lines for the first time, and the parcels sent from the Cainiao platform to Russia can be delivered to consumers in as short as five days.

　　Just a month later, the Cainiao opened a second intercontinental route. Guan Xiaodong said that China's e-commerce logistics platform continues to draw its own routes in the global aviation map. Through the exclusive intercontinental route for SMEs, it will create an intercontinental route network that will deliver cargoes to the world less 72 hours.

　　In order to allow SMEs to have the same global currency rights as large multinational corporations, Cainiao has adopted many methods, such as creating a one-stop logistics platform, irregular charter flights, overseas warehouses, etc. Finally, the time efficiency of cross-border logistics has been driven for one month to 5-7 days.

　　The latest data shows that the number of warehouses serving cross-border logistics on the Cainiao platform has reached 231, and it can be shipped to 224 countries and regions. With the opening of the Cainiao Intercontinental Route, the chartered flight lines are gradually normalizing, and a global air logistics network that is reachable in 72 hours is on the way.
