太湖源位于杭州临安东天目山南麓。其间海拔1271米的主峰马尖岗，是养育了江浙沪千百万生命的太湖源头。太湖源因此得名，其周围的几千个乡镇也是因 太湖源风景区 的开发而统一更名为 太湖源镇 。她地理位置优越，距杭仅65公里，横跨三市一县，背靠亚洲最大的蓄能电站天荒坪，座拥天目山、钱王陵、青山湖等风景胜地，可与杭州、湖州、安吉等兄弟景区组成理想的黄金旅游环线，是旅游、度假、休闲、疗养的绝佳去处。

Taihu Lake is located at the south foot of East Tianmu Moutains in Hangzhou Lin＇an. The main peak Majian gang at an altitude of 1271 meters, is the source of the Taihu Lake that raised millions of lives in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. Taihu Lake got the name，and thousands of towns around the Lake also has been renamed Taihu town because of the development of Taihu scenic area.
