5月21日上午9时许，浙江大学建校120周年校庆纪念大会正式举行。同时，浙江大学已经开始了霸屏模式：从纽约帝国大厦即将亮起浙大蓝，到澳大利亚堪培拉电讯塔将为浙大亮灯，再到黄浦江、钱塘江亮灯和武林广场音乐喷泉，连广州的“小蛮腰”都加入到了灯光秀的大军。

At about 9:00 on the morning of May 21, Zhejiang University's 120th Anniversary is being officially held. At the same time, ZJU(Zhejiang University) has started its "spamming mode": the Empire State Building and Canberra Telecom Tower in Australia will light up for ZJU with its characteristic blue; lights getting bright along Huangpu River as well as the Qiantang River along with the music conduit in Wulin Square open for ZJU, and "Guangzhou's waistline"(the Canton Tower) has also joined the group of light show as well.

　　120年来，浙江大学秉承求是创新的校训，坚持以人为本、整合培养、求是创新、追求卓越的教育理念，继承和发扬了海纳江河、启真厚德、开物前民、树我邦国的浙大精神，始终与民族复兴同频共振，与时代进步同向同行，为我国科学技术进步、经济社会发展、文化传承创新、国际交流合作做出了突出贡献。

I the past 120 years, ZJU is not only obedience to its school motto of seeking truth from facts; persists its educational philosophy of being human-oriented, integrated culture, seeking truth from facts and persuing excellence; inherit and carry forward its spirits of tolerance like the sea accepts the rivers, returning to nature, social commitment, using materials to guide the public and the determination to build our country, but ZJU is also always on the way to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation as well as keeping forward with the progress of the era, which has made great contribution for our advance of science and technology, economic and social development, cultural inheritance and innovation along with global communication and cooperation.

　　从诞生之初，浙大便承载着中华民族复兴、国家强盛的梦想，寄托着中国知识精英的学术理想和社会责任。新中国诞生后，特别是改革开放以来，始终牢牢坚持社会主义办学方向，扎根中国大地办好一流大学成为浙大发展的动力源泉。

Since the time ZJU was initiated, it has undertaken the goal of reviving China to render our nation to be increasingly prosperous and strong as well as being pinned academic dream and social responsibility of Chinese knowledgeable elites. After the foundation of New China, especially after Reform and Opening, ZJU has always firmly adhered to the schooling direction of socialism and making building world-class university with Chinese characteristics its power source of self-development.

　　今天，当中国高等教育朝着建设世界一流大学、一流学科的目标前进，120岁的浙大成为“双一流”建设中一个值得剖析的样本。

Today when China's higher education is moving forward towards the goal of building up first-rate universities and first-rate subjects in theworld, 120-year-old ZJU could be a sample worth analysing in the construction of "double first-rate".
